Bloom

An umbrella stand is generally used to prevent the mess of water entering into a place. It’s a container of what we don’t want to be seen or to be spread out. It carries rainwater, dust, and parts of the outside world.

It can be compared to human emotions: We sometimes want to hide some of our emotions to prevent a mess or just because we doesn’t feel confortable, or because we are having difficulties letting them out.

In addition to being functional for two types of umbrellas, Bloom uses a symbolic storytelling about being aware that sometimes it isn’t about hiding something, but accepting what comes and letting it transform. Rainwater accumulates, almost in a meditative way over time, but then the water evaporates (just as emotions do). In the presence of water, the resin with hidrochromic coating body changes of color, it then recovers it’s transparency when the water has changed.
